JOIN OUR TEAM

The
Redings Mill Fire Protection District has many opportunities for you
to get involved with the Fire District. You don’t even need to live
in our Fire District to volunteer or work with the Redings Mill Fire
District. Redings Mill Fire District has three programs in which we
staff our department. Please check below for information on
becoming a full time employee with Redings Mill Fire District and
ways to volunteer with Redings Mill Fire District.
Volunteer Firefighters
The Redings Mill
Fire Protection District is committed to providing the highest level
of customer service to those we protect. We do that by recruiting
and providing a high level of training to our volunteer
firefighters. We have three ways in which firefighters can serve the
department. Those that live within the Fire District boundaries can
respond from their homes or the stations. We also have opportunities
for volunteers that live outside of our district and are willing to
take shifts at one of our stations in order to respond to calls.
Residency Program
Our
Residency Program allows participants to live at our stations free
of rent in exchange for responding to calls and keeping the
apparatus ready to respond. Residency Program stations have
apartment style living quarters built inside giving you the privacy
of your own living space as well as the opportunity to gain great
experience as a firefighter.
No matter what
program fits you, we will train you to become the best firefighter
you can be. If you’re interested in becoming a Redings Mill
Volunteer Firefighter contact Asst. Chief Michael White, or fill out
the application at the link below.

Fire Corp
The
Redings Mill Fire District launched a Fire Corp program in January
2012. This program allows volunteers to assist the Fire District in
a non-emergency role. Often when large emergencies happen, we need
additional staff in order to get the job done. Instead of pulling
our firefighting staff from the field to complete duties at the
station or Emergency Operations Center, we will use Fire Corp
members to complete these important tasks. Under Fire Corp,
opportunities are endless for assisting the public and the Redings
Mill Firefighters. We will be training staff in the following areas:
·
Emergency Operations Center/Emergency Management
·
Firefighter Rehabilitation at fire scenes
·
Assist
with Public Education Programs
·
Assist
with Firewise Communities Program
·
Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT)
·
Fundraising
·
Administrative Assistance
So
if you want to be a part of Redings Mill Fire District but fire and
smoke isn’t your game we have a program for you too! Just call Asst.
Chief White or click on the above application to get started.
