Firefighter - Entry Level TESTING

The Redings Mill Fire Protection District currently has a career staff of 15, including three chief officers, three shift captains, and nine engineer/apparatus operators.  In order to be eligible for hire with the Redings Mill Fire Protection District, you must have Missouri Firefighter 1 & 2 certification, First Responder Training, a valid Missouri Driver’s License, and have passed the Tri-State Fire Recruitment Testing process.  For inquiries into career opportunities with our fire district, contact Assistant Chief Steve Coats at 417-624-2715.

TRI-STATE FIRE RECRUITMENT ALLIANCE Entry-Level FIREFIGHTER Testing

WRITTEN TEST: DATE: Friday, January 22, 2010 TIME: 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. LOCATION: City of Joplin - City Hall 602 Main Street Joplin, MO 64801  Basement Conference Room

PHYSICAL TEST: DATE: Saturday, January 23, 2010 TIME: 8:00 a.m. start LOCATION: Memorial Hall 212 West 8th Street Joplin, MO 64801 • For the physical please wear proper attire for running.

Tri-State Fire Recruitment Alliance includes: Logan-Rogersville Fire Protection District; Joplin Fire Department; Neosho Fire Department; Nevada Fire Department; Redings Mill Fire Protection District; and Strafford Fire Protection District. The Alliance will be conducting a pre-employment written & physical ability test (PAT) to establish a hiring pool for future hiring’s for a 12 month period.

Test Prerequisites: Applicants must have a H.S. diploma or GED, be at least 18 years old, legally entitled to work in the U.S. and have a valid driver’s license.

Hiring Prerequisites: Each member Department maintains its own hiring prerequisites which are available on their web sites. Some college education is desirable; as are EMT, Firefighter II, and paramedic certifications (certain departments prefer applicants with EMT certification but it is not required to take this test).

To participate in testing a registration form must be received with a $75 cashiers check, personal check or money order to City of Joplin, Human Resources Office, 602 S. Main Street, Joplin, MO 64801 by Thursday, January 14, 2010 at 5:00 p.m. Confirmation of registration, with PAT schedule will be distributed on receipt of registration and fee. Download the registration form on this web site or contact the other participating agencies listed above. Forms and payment should be returned ONLY to City of Joplin by the deadline.

Volunteer Information

The Redings Mill Fire Protection District is always looking for good volunteers that are willing to serve their community.  Requirements to volunteer for the Redings Mill Fire Protection District are that you live within our fire district boundaries or south of 32^nd Street in the city of Joplin, that you posses a valid Missouri Driver’s License with no criminal record.   To volunteer with our organization, please complete the application and return it to our Fire Station #1, located at 344 Redings  Mill Rd.  For inquiries into volunteering for our fire district contact Lt.
