Accessibility Statement

Effective Date: October 21, 2026

Redings Mill Fire Protection District (“RMFPD,” “the District,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to providing a website that is accessible, inclusive, and usable for all individuals, including people with disabilities.

As a public fire protection district serving communities in Missouri, RMFPD recognizes the importance of providing equal access to public safety information, emergency preparedness resources, District services, and government information.

The District is working toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards and continues to improve the accessibility, usability, and functionality of its website.

Accessibility Standards

Our goal is to provide digital content that supports recognized accessibility practices and meets applicable requirements under Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

RMFPD uses the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA as its accessibility target, consistent with the technical standard established by the U.S. Department of Justice for state and local government websites.

The District is working to improve accessibility across its website, including public information pages, electronic forms, downloadable documents, and interactive features.

Although accessibility improvements are ongoing, some website content or functionality may not yet fully conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA.

Accessibility Features

RMFPD continues to implement and improve accessibility practices across its website, including:

  • Keyboard navigation and operation of interactive elements
  • Alternative text for informative images
  • Clear and logical heading structures
  • Readable typography and appropriate color contrast
  • Responsive layouts for desktop, tablet, and mobile devices
  • Accessible form labels, instructions, and input fields
  • Visible keyboard focus indicators
  • Descriptive links and navigation elements
  • Improvements to screen reader compatibility
  • Accessible presentation of public information and resources

The District may introduce additional accessibility improvements as website technologies, content, and user needs evolve.

Ongoing Testing and Review

RMFPD recognizes that website accessibility requires ongoing evaluation, maintenance, and improvement.

Accessibility reviews may include automated testing tools, manual evaluations, keyboard navigation checks, color contrast assessments, and reviews of website content and forms.

When accessibility issues are identified, the District works to evaluate and address them based on their impact, available resources, and applicable accessibility requirements.

Accessibility considerations are also incorporated into website content updates and ongoing maintenance activities when practicable.

Third-Party Content and Services

This website may contain third-party content or embedded services, including:

  • Google Maps and other mapping services
  • Videos and embedded media
  • Social media content
  • External government and public safety resources
  • Website security and spam prevention tools
  • Other third-party applications or interactive features

Although RMFPD makes reasonable efforts to provide accessible digital services and select appropriate third-party resources, some external content or embedded features may present accessibility limitations.

The District does not directly control the accessibility practices of independently operated third-party websites.

RMFPD will work to address accessibility barriers involving third-party content or services provided through its website as required by applicable law.

Visitors who experience difficulty accessing embedded content or third-party features may contact the District for assistance.

Downloadable Documents and Public Records

The RMFPD website may provide downloadable documents, including:

  • Board meeting agendas and minutes
  • Public notices and District reports
  • Employment and volunteer applications
  • Fire prevention and educational materials
  • Community service forms
  • PDF documents and other public information resources

The District works toward providing accessible documents and improving the usability of downloadable materials.

Some documents, including older files or materials originating from external sources, may not yet meet all accessibility requirements.

If you experience difficulty accessing a document or require information in an alternative accessible format, please contact RMFPD.

The District will review requests and provide appropriate assistance or alternative access in accordance with applicable law.

Online Forms and Applications

RMFPD provides online forms for general inquiries, employment and volunteer opportunities, 911 address sign requests, and other non-emergency District services.

The District works to improve the accessibility of these forms, including their labels, instructions, navigation, and submission processes.

If you are unable to complete an online form because of an accessibility barrier, you may contact the District by telephone or email to request assistance or an alternative submission method.

Documents uploaded through website forms are delivered to authorized District personnel by email rather than intentionally retained in Elementor Pro submission records.

Online forms and email communications are not monitored continuously and must not be used to report emergencies.

Accessibility Assistance and Accommodation Requests

Individuals who experience difficulty accessing website content, completing an online form, or using a website feature may request accessibility assistance or information in an alternative format.

RMFPD will make reasonable efforts to review and respond to accessibility requests in a timely manner, considering the nature of the request, available resources, and applicable legal requirements.

Requests may include assistance with:

  • Accessing website information
  • Obtaining accessible versions of documents
  • Completing online forms
  • Accessing District programs or service information
  • Reporting barriers affecting assistive technologies
  • Obtaining information through an alternative communication method

The District will work to provide reasonable accommodations or effective communication as required by applicable law.
