Emergency Response

Fire Response

Redings Mill Fire Protection District responds to approximately 150 fires each year, including structure, vehicle, and outdoor fires. Our career and volunteer personnel train continuously to provide a safe, effective response across the District’s 110-square-mile service area.

Operating from five stations, our crews work to ensure the personnel, apparatus, and equipment needed for an emergency are ready when the community calls.

Emergency Medical Response

Redings Mill Fire Protection District responds alongside Newton County Ambulance to medical emergencies throughout the District. Our personnel include Medical First Responders, EMTs, Advanced EMTs, and Paramedics trained to provide both basic and advanced life support.

Crews assist with illness and injury assessment, CPR, airway management, trauma care, and other immediate medical needs while working with ambulance personnel to provide coordinated emergency care.

Rescue

Rescue emergencies can range from vehicle extrication and water rescue to hazardous materials incidents, falls, equipment entrapments, and structural collapse. RMFPD personnel train in a variety of technical and specialized rescue disciplines to prepare for these complex incidents.

When an incident requires specialized resources beyond the District’s capabilities, RMFPD works with neighboring fire departments to bring the personnel, equipment, and expertise needed to the scene.
