What is considered outdoor or open burning?

Open burning is burning materials where smoke and other emissions are released directly into the air without passing through a chimney or stack.

Certain materials cannot be openly burned, including tires, used oil, plastics, rubber products, asphalt roofing, hazardous materials, treated wood, and asbestos-containing materials.
